“Karena begitu besar kasih Allah akan dunia ini, sehingga Ia telah mengaruniakan Anak-Nya yang tunggal, supaya setiap orang yang percaya kepada-Nya tidak binasa, melainkan beroleh hidup yang kekal.”

Nikodemus melihat kata- kata Yesus itu hanya sebuah kata – kata indah. Dia tidak mengerti.
Nikodemus hanya melihat firman itu sebagai dekorasi bukan sebuah deklarasi kehidupan.

“Juga Nikodemus datang ke situ. Dialah yang mula-mula datang waktu malam kepada Yesus. Ia membawa campuran minyak mur dengan minyak gaharu, kira-kira lima puluh kati beratnya.”

Baru saat Nikodemus melihat Yesus yang mati di kayu salib, itu yang membuat nikodemus berubah.

Apakah kasih Bapa cukup buat hidupmu untuk mengekspresikan imanmu?

John 3:16 (KJV) “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Nicodemus saw Jesus’ words as just beautiful words. He didn’t understand. He saw the Word as decoration, not a declaration of life.

John 19:39 (KJV) “And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.”

But when he saw Jesus die on the cross (John 19:39), that’s what changed him.
