Kisah Para Rasul 7:41 (TB)

Lalu pada waktu itu mereka membuat sebuah anak lembu dan mempersembahkan persembahan kepada berhala itu dan mereka bersukacita tentang apa yang dibuat sendiri oleh mereka.

Hidup tanpa pengenalan akan Tuhan yang benar dapat membuat fokus hidup seseorang bergeser. Bahkan tidak sedikit orang sampai dibutakan dengan keinginan-keinginan yang tidak pernah ada habisnya.

Bangsa Israel banyak mengalami perbuatan besar dan mujizat Tuhan saat mereka dibebaskan dari perbudakan dan keterikatan Mesir. Namun mereka lebih menyukai apa yang dapat mereka lihat dan hasilkan sendiri daripada mengenal Tuhan yang telah membebaskan mereka.

“You might not see His great work every day, yet He still is a great God every single day.” Acts 7:41 (KJV)

And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.

Living without knowing the true God can shift the focus of a person’s life. In fact many people become blinded by their own desires.

The Israelites experienced many great deeds and miracles from God when they were freed from slavery and bondage in Egypt. But they prefered to focus on what they could see and achieve on their own rather than knowing the God who had set them free.

“You might not see His great work every day, yet He still is a great God every single day.”
